These gelato bowls are wheel thrown and glazed in a high fire Chum glaze. Fired to 1280 in a gas reduction kiln. A simple flat base with makers mark makes these bowls comfortable to hold, throwing lines kept in the walls of the piece allow you to feel the way the clay was thrown into shape. These bowl can be used for anything really not just gelato, they are prefect for tea too.
These pots are dishwasher safe and food safe, although washing by hand is the preferred. These pots are made with high iron content clay body that is reduction fired. This kind of firing can make angled edges susceptible to chipping if they’re bumped heavily so handle pots with care.
