This Large display bowl is wheel thrown with stoneware clay and glazed in a shino crawling glaze. Fired in a gas reduction kiln to 1280 degrees.
Shino glaze leaves wonderful variations in browns and whites, making each bowl unique. The crawling nature of the glaze leaves spots where the glaze has pulled away from the clay and made these perfect triangles. Almost like bunting hanging for a celebration 🥳
This bowl is perfect for displaying fruits and vegetables or found natural objects or to be hung on the wall as a display piece. This bowl is not intended for serving wet food as the glaze has intentional breaks.
These pots are dishwasher safe and food safe, although washing by hand is the preferred. These pots are made with high iron content clay body that is reduction fired. This kind of firing can make angled edges susceptible to chipping if they’re bumped heavily so handle pots with care.
